Your heating and air conditioning system is one of the most expensive and complex parts of your home. Keeping it running smoothly and repairing it when there are problems is important. Finding the right HVAC contractor is one of the best ways to ensure that your HVAC system operates at peak efficiency for the longest time possible.  An experienced and certified technician is an invaluable resource, and the person you’ll count on to keep you and your family comfortable in your home year round.

Qualifications are a key factor when choosing an HVAC contractor. They should have more than the bare minimum of  expertise.  Your contractor should be fully licensed and have experience.  He or she should be a member of industry organizations that set standards for licensing and best practices.

Additional third-party certifications are also available that HVAC technicians can earn.   Being certified by NATE is one of most prestigious in the industry, and the only one accepted by the entire HVAC industry. At Ohio Heating and Air Conditioning, we’re proud of the fact that we only employ NATE certified technicians. But, what does this designation mean for you as the homeowner?   NATE-3-1

What does NATE Certified mean?

North American Technicians Excellence, Inc. (NATE) develops and promotes excellence in the installation and service of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment by recognizing high-quality industry technicians through voluntary testing and certification. NATE is supported by a broad spectrum of industry representatives including contractors, distributors, educators, manufacturers, technicians and utilities.

What does employing NATE certified technicians mean to you?

NATE certified technicians are recognized as meeting the highest industry standards for knowledgeable installation and services of HVAC equipment and systems. This level of expertise means they are more likely to install and service systems right the first time. As a homeowner, this translates into better customer service, fewer callbacks and better word of mouth.

By hiring NATE-certified technicians, customers know they are getting employees who know what they are doing and who are serious about customer service.

Manufacturers and distributors of HVAC equipment endorse NATE certification because it encourages proper installation and service of equipment, which ultimately means fewer service calls and warranty returns later on.

Other advantages for homeowners and the HVAC industry include:

  • Certified techs stay in the industry longer and are more productive than non-certified techs.
  • NATE provides a uniform standard of knowledge that trainers can use to prepare the future HVAC workforce.
  • Properly trained and tested technicians can assure the correct installation and servicing of HVAC equipment, which saves homeowners on their energy bills over time.

NATE certified technicians will size and install your system so that it operates at peak efficiency, saving you money and energy.  This is significant because, according to www.energystar.gov, improper installation of your HVAC equipment can reduce its efficiency by up to 30 percent! No one wants higher utility bills and a shorter life for their equipment.

Tips for Hiring a HVAC Contractor

Apr 28, 2020 8:13:35 AM

If you are considering a new heating and cooling system for your home, hiring a qualified and AC tune up specialdependable HVAC contractor is essential.

Only hire a licensed and bonded contractor. Getting the best price on your new equipment is important, but choosing an unlicensed contractor who offers a "money-saving" deal can cause a lot of expensive problems down the line.

Some of the issues you may face with an unlicensed contractor are untrustworthy diagnoses, unreliable repairs, improper installations and shoddy craftsmanship. Unlicensed personnel pose an increased risk for safety hazards, which could put your family in jeopardy.

Serious problems can occur when working with contractors who work outside of the laws and regulations designed to protect both you and the environment.

At Ohio Heating & Air Conditioning, you know you are getting a great price on your new system, but it will be sized properly and expertly installed.

We constantly work to educate and train our technicians. We employ NATE certified technicians, licensed plumbers and gas fitters, as well as licensed sheet metal workers.

  • We are a fully licensed HVAC contractor and also fully bonded
  • Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer
  • Nate Certified Techs
  • Competitive Prices
  • Easy Financing Options
  • Expert Installation

When one of our techs steps into your home or place of business, you are getting a professional who has demonstrated exceptional levels of knowledge in HVAC.

Although it can be tempting to choose your contractor based solely on pricing, it pays to be savvy BBB_Angies-2about who you hire to work in your home. Many of our customers call us after researching sites such as Angie’s List and the Better Business Bureau, where we have the highest ratings.

Don’t get burned by some “fly-by-night” self-described HVAC Contractor. Come to the experts, call Ohio Heating & Air Conditioning at 614.863.6666.

Why You Should Hire Ohio Heating & Air Conditioning to Install Your New Furnace

Oh Heating truck rev

Deciding which furnace to buy is just half of the process. Deciding who will install your new equipment is very important. Ohio Heating & Air Conditioning has helped Ohio homeowners through the buying and installation experience with our expert knowledge and years of experience. Our customer service makes upgrading your heating system painless.

Proper installation of your new furnace is essential for maximum efficiency. Hiring our factory trained and NATE certified technicians to install your furnace will insure that your furnace will:

  • Operate at its most efficient level
  • Save you money on energy bills
  • Extend the life of your equipment
  • Ducts will be working properly

A big part of proper installation is ductwork. The ducts in your home are an essential aspect of your heating and cooling system as it distributes airflow in your home. The air is pulled from your home into the heater or air conditioner, where it is heated or cooled, and pushed back through ducts into your living space.

Ductwork and insulation can be hidden in an attic or crawlspace making it easy to overlook. Problems with leaky or improperly installed ducts can seriously affect your home's comfort level.

In a typical house, about 20 to 30 percent of the air that moves through the duct system is lost because of leaks, holes and poorly connected ducts. Also, something called heat conduction can cause loss of heated or cooled air.

Heat conduction means that the heat or the cool air created by the furnace or air conditioner passes through the metal walls of the duct. When this happens, the duct itself and the spaces directly surrounding it are heated or cooled. As a result, some conditioned air does not make it to the living spaces, where it is actually needed.

Ohio Heating & Air Conditioning techs are experts at assessing and repairing ducts to provide the maximum efficiency from your system. We've been providing quality solutions to Central Ohio homeowners for over 21 years.  Give us a call at 614.863.6666.
